Vintage Knits Update

We are a bit behind getting some of our “newly found” products online.  We told our newsletter  subscribers that we found a shipment of Bryspun Knitting Needles in our storage area that was never unpacked, and we planned to get them on the website several days ago.  We missed our target by a few days, but the entire Bryspun shipment is now online.  We have many, but not all sizes of the double points and circular needles in stock.  To see what’s available visit our online store.

Apparently the Bryspun circular needles are now discontinued.  So, if you like knitting with flexible needles, this is your last chance to buy this brand.  I haven’t checked if the double points are discontinued or not, but the double points are still on the manufacturer’s website.   We have learned that another company is making a similar circular knitting needle.  At this point I haven’t had an opportunity to look at the new     company’s needles, but a quick check on this product indicates that they cost quite a bit more than the Bryspun needles do.  For now, we will sell what we have in stock.  In the future, we may bring in the similar product that is now sold, but nothing is certain.  Because we have so many needles that we already stock, we may wait to add another line, especially since the new similar product cost more.

QUICK GIFT IDEA!

We just made an adorable knitted adult beanie out of two 50-gram skeins of Louet Gems yarn.  The hat turned out lovely, and was very quick to knit.  There are two versions, one ribbed, and one cabled.  We will have the pattern available on our blog this week.  If you need the pattern sooner, email us, and we can give you the directions for the hat.

Introducing the Regia 4-ply Design Line
by Arne & Carlos

This is the hottest sock yarn of the season.  It’s sold out at many US yarn shops, but we were able to get a shipment in over the weekend.

Popular Norwegian designers Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison have produced six stunning  Fair Isle patterned sock yarns for Regia’s Design Line.  This 4-ply fingering weight yarn is very durable, and has a nice feel to it.  All you have to do is knit, and the pattern magically appears all by itself!  Two 50 gram skeins will make an average size pair of adult socks.  The yarn sells for $9.65 per skein.  Each skein has 230 yards.  You can purchase the yarn at our online store.

Monday we are expecting a large box full of your favorite knitting notions.  We are quite low on notions at the moment, but Monday we will be fully restocked, and will have a few new items.  Look for sweater washing bags, and mesh sweater hanging dryers.  We also ordered a crochet kit from the makers of Denise Interchangeable Needles.  We will be restocking our knitting needles later this month.

We are always tweaking our website.  It’s now easier to browse with the new layout.  Before, our products were in a single column.  Now there are three columns, and 21 products per page.  This makes it much easier to browse our humongous clearance department.  Let us know what you think!
