We went to a trade show a few months back, and were intrigued by some beautifully multi-dyed lace yarn that we saw.  Although we do not usually carry this brand, we did pick up a few bags of Skacel Merino Lace Yarn.  While I’m not 100% positive, it appears to be identical to Ornaghi Filati’s Merino Oro yarn that we have carried for years.  Both yarns are from Italy, have the same yardage, the same composition and feel.  Unfortunately, both of these yarns have been discontinued.

We only have 10 hanks of the Skacel Merino Lace left, five in each color.  Since this yarn has been discontinued, we are limited to stock on hand, and cannot get any more of it.  The Merino Lace is 100% fine wool, has 1375 yards, and is on sale for $13.68.  There is ample yardage for your favorite lace project.  We have many lace patterns in our store that will work well with this yarn, including my favorite, the Fiber Trends Shawls.  To purchase Merino Lace, visit the clearance section our online store.

We send out this reminder every year about holiday shipping. Right now we are current with all of our orders, and do not have any backlogs. Orders are usually shipped within two business days of our receiving them. Many orders are shipped the next day, and some the same day, it just depends on how busy we are. We ship orders Monday through Friday, and are closed on the weekends. The delivery estimates on our website start from the shipping date, not the order date.

Christmas is just a few weeks away, and to insure that you receive your Christmas gifts in time, you need to choose priority mail (or first class if that option appears) during checkout. The shipping estimates on our website come directly from the USPS website, but, we have found that their estimates for parcel post delivery are wishful thinking at best. We have found that during this time of year, parcel post shipments can take two weeks. Paying a little more for priority mail insures that no one is without a present on Christmas morning.

Although we are located on the west coast, our website is hosted in New York, and has unfortunately been affected by Hurricane Sandy.  Due to flooding and power outages in New York City, our website has had connectivity issues and has been unavailable (off and on) for many hours since this past Monday.  The problems were caused when our service provider’s data center (and several other major data centers) flooded, and like much of New York City, is out of power.  Our network provider is working to keep the back up generators online while they deal with the flooding and power issues inside the building.  Hopefully, the worst has passed, and things will be back to normal soon.
